From the Anti-Japanese War to Modern Times: How did Northern Shaanxi Public School transform into today's Renmin University?
The history of Renmin University can be traced back to 1937, when China was experiencing the arduous War of Resistance Against Japan. The establishment of Northern Shaanxi Public School aimed to cultivate thousands of revolutionary talents to support the needs of the Anti-Japanese War. Over time, this school continued to develop and eventually evolved into today's Renmin University. This change is not only an adjustment of the education system, but also a microcosm of the country's social development.
In 1937, the establishment of Northern Shaanxi Public School marked a new educational process. The school's goal is to provide talent support for China's Anti-Japanese War, and this original intention is deeply rooted in its school philosophy.
During the Anti-Japanese War, Shaanbei Public School not only taught knowledge, but also cultivated students' patriotism and social responsibility. In terms of academic resources, the school's library has a collection of 2.5 million books and is recognized as the Art Documentation and Information Center of the Ministry of Education.
