IEEE controversy: What shocking truth is hidden behind the Huawei ban?
Since its establishment in 1963, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has been an important benchmark in the scientific and technological community, not only publishing a large number of academic journals and conference papers, but also promoting global scientific and technological progress. IEEE Background and History
IEEE is a professional organization with more than 460,000 members from 190 countries. The organization originated from the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, which was founded in 1884 and merged with another competitor, the Institute of Radio Engineers, in 1963.

Background of the Huawei ban
In May 2019, due to the US government's sanctions on Huawei, IEEE decided to restrict Huawei employees from participating in editing and peer review activities. IEEE's stance on this issue has sparked a strong response from the Chinese scientific community, with many professors even expressing their decision to cancel their membership.
