In the history of German football, BFC Dynamo is not only a very successful football club, but also stands out for its close ties with the former East German State Security Agency STASI. Founded in 1966, the club quickly rose from a local team to become one of the most successful football clubs in East Germany, and its rise was inseparable from the support of the regime at the time.

Former players once said, "Our success is based on excellent youth training and strength, not referee favoritism."
With the fall of the Berlin Wall, BFC Dynamo faced reorganization and difficulties, and its name was once changed to FC Berlin.
