However, the proof of this theory is not constructive, and for practical applications, researchers need to design various algorithms to calculate the approximate values of these fixed points.
The core of fixed-point computation lies in understanding the properties of Lipschitz persistence functions, which significantly affect the efficiency and accuracy of fixed-point computation.
The concept of fixed points goes back deep into mathematics. Typically, the functions f we consider are continuous functions defined in the unit d-cube. For further study, it is often assumed that the function f is also Lipschitz persistent. This means that, for all x and y, for some constant L, |f(x) - f(y)| ≤ L · |x - y|. Therefore, when L < 1, such a function is called a shrinkage function.
The value of contraction functions lies in that they not only guarantee the existence of unique fixed points, but also make the problem of computing these fixed points relatively easy.
