This type of sweet corn, such as "Buttergold" matures in 63 days, while "Kandy King" takes 75 days. These varieties are generally more delicate and not suitable for mechanical harvesting, but are widely loved for their sweet aroma.
Super sweet (sh2) variety
Super-sweet sweet corn contains four to ten times the sugar content of ordinary sweet corn and can generally be stored for up to ten days.
For example, "Extra Early Super Sweet" takes 67 days. The growth requirements of this type of variety are relatively strict, requiring higher germination temperatures and appropriate planting depth.
Collaborative varieties (sy)
Synergistic varieties combine different genes on the same ear. Different gene combinations can bring different tastes and appearances.
Honey Select, for example, is harvested in 79 days and these varieties are prized for their special genetic formula.
Enhanced super sweet varieties
This type of variety combines super-sweet genes with the characteristics of other sweet corn varieties, and has an excellent taste after harvest.
