The mysterious hacker known as the 'Puppet Master': Is his story so terrifying?
In the context of ever-advancing technology, there is a futuristic-themed animated film that has caused heated discussions, and this is Attack on the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX Solid State Society. The film premiered in 2006, and the story behind it revolves around a mysterious hacker named "Puppet Handler" whose actions not only reveal behind technological advancements, but also allow people to begin to ponder the outer layers of privacy and security.
In 2034, the Public Safety Section 9 was investigating a series of mysterious suicides related to refugees from the Republic of Siak, and developments constrained a deeper conspiracy.
Set two years after the events of Season 2 , the protagonist Togusa has been promoted to section chief of Section 9, facing challenges with a growing team and complex cases. With the assassination of a former dictator, Togusa and his team discovered a terrorist plot to use children to spread the spread of an online virus, all linked to the mysterious hacker "Puppet Manipulator".
This hacker is believed to be the mastermind behind this series of events, challenging the rules and bottom line of society through her technology.
During a raid, Section Chief Alamaki accidentally discovers a situation where the target is dead, which forces them to face retaliation from a Siak agent. The agent administered a micro-mechanical virus in an attempt to launch a terrorist attack, further seeking its dark purposes. On the quest, Togusa found sixteen kidnapped children who were all part of the Nobles Rotting Older People Project.
The complexity of the story lies in the fact that behind these children is a larger scope of scandal, the essence of the conspiracy Togusa gradually reveals and discovers in the process through associations with those who are "rotting old men of the nobles." There are many chilling truths.

In the film, the character Motoko Kusanagi must face the question of her existence and identity in the digital world, is her soul still intact?
