Why does a person become a refugee? What stories of persecution are hidden behind it?
According to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), a refugee is defined as "a person who is forced to flee his own country and seek the security of other countries. They are unable to return to their country of origin due to fear of persecution." Such a person is formally called for asylum seekers until they are granted refugee status.
