Evaluation of Oncology Trial Results Reporting Over a 10-Year Period

Abstract

Key Points Question What percentage of interventional oncology trials registered on ClinicalTrials.gov from 2007 through 2017 have reported results? Findings In this cohort study of 12 240 completed or terminated oncology trials registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, only 7425 (60.7%) reported results on ClinicalTrials.gov and/or in journal articles. The 24-month reporting rate for trials completed or terminated in or before 2007 was 5.1% and increased to 39.1% in 2017. Meaning This study found an increase in the reporting of oncology trial results over 10 years and a basis for future improvement.
