Multifactorial learning challenges in anatomy: What is the niche in current research?

Abstract

We are pleased to learn that a Letter to the Editor was generated to address our article (Cheung et al., 2021) published in the Anatomical Sciences Education. In her letter entitled Is there a correlation between how medical students study and prepare for anatomy and the reasons why they find anatomy difficult? , Patera raised an important aspect of anatomy learning that might have been overlooked in the field. She suggested that the ways students learn anatomy in their own time (self-directed learning) could be one of the major contributing factors why they find anatomy difficult (Patera, 2021).
