New onset of seropositive generalized myasthenia gravis following intravesical bacille Calmette‐Guerin treatment for bladder cancer: A case study

Abstract

CASE PRESENTATION We present a 69-year-old man treated with intravesical BCG weekly for 6 weeks for recurrent bladder cancer. One month after the final BCG treatment, he presented with difficulty chewing, slurring of speech, double vision, and a droopy right eyelid. He denied having had any recent infections or vaccinations, and a review of medications did not identify a known trigger of myasthenia gravis. Examination revealed fatigable right ptosis, horizontal diplopia
