The role of RNA interference in modern pharmacotherapy

Abstract

After more than 30\u2009years of research, drugs known as small interfering RNA (siRNA), which work by selectively targeting and silencing the mRNA products of genes, are now reaching the market. This article discusses the current and future role of siRNA and other therapies that use RNA interference to manage a wide range of diseases.
