Abstract

Biomimetics and biomimicry are thought processes applied to biomaterial design, where biological implants have properties which mirror closely those of natural material. The authorsdiscuss the recipient site, mechanical stability of implant, grafts based on bone mineral components, grafts based on structural protein, and grafts based on cellular implants.
