Nonlocalities and Scattering

Abstract

One aspect of nucleon-nucleus scattering, the formalism of which was presented in Chap. 2, is that the interaction between the nucleon and the target is inherently nonlocal. This chapter describes the issue regarding nonlocality in low- and intermediate-energy nucleon-nucleus scattering. It is found that not only are the interactions nonlocal but highly nonlocal for which usual approximate corrections to local models of scattering cannot account.
