Multifocal Intraocular Lenses: FineVision (PhysIOL) Lens
Abstract
Introduction: The FineVision IOL (PhysIOL, Liege, Belgium) was the first commercially available diffractive trifocal IOL. Methods: We conducted an observational study evaluating the visual outcomes and patient satisfaction 5 years after the Fine Vision IOL implantation. This study included 24 eyes of 12 patients. Results: The defocus curve showed two peaks corresponding to the near and distance focus, the intermediate distance focus was acceptable. Patients satisfaction was high with a mean RASCH score at NAVQ-10 of 16.29. Only one patient reported the perception of photic phenomena as “annoying”. Conclusions: the Fine Vision IOL achieves good long term visual outcomes and a high patient satisfaction, with few photic phenomena.
