Highly Enhanced Light Emissions from InGaN/GaN Based on Nanophotonics and Plasmonics
Abstract
Optical properties of InGaN/GaN-based quantum wells (QWs) commonly used in light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are determined by the time–space dynamics of excitons generated by current injection and photoexcitation. Such exciton dynamics can be directly observed by temporal and spatial-resolved spectroscopic techniques based on nonlinear optics and near-field optics. Nanophotonics using nanostructures of materials and plasmonics using metal/dielectric interfaces enable us to control the exciton diffusion and recombination dynamics and its emission mechanism and bring more efficient light-emitting properties.
