A Novel Hybrid Renewable Power Platform: A Sustainable Innovation

Abstract

Recent days, the Hybrid Renewable Power Platform (HRPP) is disseminated widely as stand-alone power systems. HRPP is an emergent power generation technology that comprises a combination of distinct renewable energy systems. It helps in the production of electricity in remote areas due to technological advancement in the field of renewable energy. Due to the digital revolution, the consumption of electricity has been increased and there is a steady increase in the prices of petroleum products. Therefore, it is necessary to discover the most suitable hybrid combinations to develop HRPP more efficiently and also environment friendly. This paper proposes a novel and stand- alone HRPP that combines wind turbines, solar panels and water current energy all three together. It supports hybrid offshore power generation platforms in order to produce off-grid electricity in remote areas. Each of these can generate up to 24 KW in ideal conditions and there’s one at each corner of each 12 × 2-m floating unit. On top of that, 8 KW wind turbines can be placed at each junction point that covers the entire top surface with solar panels. The combined units could generate power up to 20 KW. The proposed HRPP unit can be deployed in order to produce off-grid electricity to remote areas unreachable to the regional or national electricity grid.
