Neuroimaging of Infectious, Inflammatory, and Autoimmune Skin and Subcutaneous Lesions
Abstract
Many infections, inflammatory conditions, and immune disorders can involve the skin and subcutaneous tissues. Diagnostic imaging often plays an important role in evaluating these conditions, including both local and distant manifestations. The clinicopathologic and neuroimaging features of the following topics are reviewed in this chapter: bacterial, viral, and fungal infections, histiocytic disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, sarcoidosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren syndrome, scleroderma, immunoglobin G4-related disease, Kimura disease, benign osteoma cutis, and Parry Romberg syndrome.
