Back to High School—Algebra Revisited

Abstract

The basic types of numbers are reviewed, along with their arithmetic. These include natural numbers, integers, rational numbers, as well as irrational and real numbers. Complex numbers are brie y mentioned. The material is presented at a very elementary (grammar to high school) level. For the sake of completeness, optional, quite sophisticated, material is included. A simple introduction to systems of two linear algebraic equations with two unknowns is included.
