Abstract


Portable Bio-electric Plant is a new product that utilizes the biowastes from all sources and converts it directly to electric energy to meet the requirements of the concerned building. The project arises from the ever-growing issues of improper disposal of biowastes, leading to harmful social impacts. Biodegradable wastes, which are generated from various sources like vegetable wastes and food wastes in a household are mainly thrown out or disposed of to open air turning out to be the most common source of airborne diseases. But a significant fact that is discarded is that this is a major energy source and the problems related to its disposal can be answered. Production of biogas is a known practice and the reason why it is not common is that it needs a biogas plant of large size dug in the ground, and the gas is mainly used for cooking purpose. This novel product holds the advantage that the plant, which is a single unit including the converting technology, is portable so that it can be installed anywhere, let it be a house or a food court or so with immense resources. The plant measures the pressure of the gas produced, and when it attains the required level for the production of electricity, the user with a smartphone is alerted. After the required working cycle, the user is alerted to power off the system. In addition, the safety concern monitors gas leakage, if any and alerts the user. The slurry which is a rich biofertilizer can either be exported or used for farming practice for the user.
