Acronicta rumicis (Linnaeus, 1758), Emerging Pest of Apple Plantation in Kashmir Valley

 
 
 

Abstract


The larvae of the moth Acronicta rumicis Linnaeus commonly known as Knot grass moth inflict considerable damage to new apple plantation in the Kashmir region. Immature stages of the pest defoliate apical buds and result in stunted growth of the plant. Seasonal occurrence and severity of the pest from Kashmir Valley is detailed.
