Richtwerte für 2-Propanol in der Innenraumluft

Abstract

The German Committee on Indoor Air Guide Values ( AIR) derives indoor air guide values to evaluate concentrations of substances in indoor air with regard to public health risks. For the health evaluation of 2-Propanol in indoor air no sufficiently significant human studies exist. In a chronic inhalation study in rats adverse effects on the kidneys of female rats occurred at a concentration level of 12,500 mg/m and no effect was observed at 6250 mg/m. Extrapolating to continous exposure with a factor of 5.6, by applying an assessment factor of 2.5 for toxicodynamic differences, of 10 for interindividual variability, and a factor of 2 to account for the higher respiratory rate of children compared to adults resulted in a health-based hazard guide value ( RW II) of 45 mg/m and a precautionary guide value ( RW I) of 22 mg/m for 2-propanol in indoor air.
