Abstract

Book’s topic Historically, the choice for women professionals has always been either motherhood or a career, as life would not allow even the most gifted women to be successful at both. Until recently, role models thriving in both motherhood and a professional career were uncommon, and those choosing academia in the physical sciences were scarce. The bookMom the chemistry professor by Editors Kimberly Woznack, Amber Charlebois, Renee Cole, Cecilia Marzabadi, and Gail Webster is a collection of autobiographical accounts from 40 mothers who are also professors of chemistry. The contributors share their personal experiences navigating career and family choices and offer advice to women considering a similar path.
