KLC2020 implementation: challenges for the development of satellite landslide early warning systems
Abstract
Introduction The importance of early warning systems (EWSs) for disaster risk reduction (DRR) is highlighted in several risk reduction policies proposed by international organizations, such as the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030, launched by the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) and by the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL), which was adopted at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan, on 18 March 2015.
