Research of Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Irrigated Cross-Flow Packing Blocks of Various Designs

Abstract

Hydrodynamic characteristics of irrigated cross-flow packing blocks, consisting of expanded corrugated sheets, in which the corrugation is located vertically and horizontally in the direction of gas movement, are investigated in the present article. Based on the results of numerical studies at one of the liquid flow rates, a comparative assessment of the uniformity of distribution of steam flows, pressure drop, speed and residence time in irrigated cross-flow packing blocks of various designs was carried out.
