Mononuclear, Dinuclear, and 1-D Chain Structural Variations in Zinc(4-fluoro-2-hydroxy-benzoic Acid)Bipyridine Complexes: Syntheses, Structures, and Luminescence Properties
Abstract
A series of zinc complexes [Zn(HL)2(phen)(H2O)] (1), [Zn2(HL)4(2,2′-bipy)2] (2) and [Zn2(HL)4(4,4′-bipy)2]n (3) (H2L = 4-fluoro-2-hydroxy-benzoic acid, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, 2,2′-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine, 4,4′-bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, UV–vis spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. Complexes 1–3 are a new mononuclear complex, dinuclear complex and 1-D chain complexes, respectively. The luminescent properties of 1–3 were also studied.Graphical AbstractA series of complexes from mononuclear to 1-D chain compounds have been synthesized and the luminescent properties studies show that 1–3 may be a promising candidate of useful photoactive materials.
