Racial/Ethnic Disparities in Opioid-Related Mortality in the USA, 1999–2019: the Extreme Case of Washington DC

and interventions specifically focused on reducing the impact of the opioid overdose crisis in Black communities are lacking [8]. Because effective, equitable interventions require local, culturally appropriate interventions tailored to structurally vulnerable populations [8], it is critical to identify where these communities reflect a substantial portion of opioid deaths [9].
