Comment on: Development of a Low-Cost Portable Device for Identification of Parathyroid Glands Using Autofluorescence

Abstract

Dear Editor, We read with interest the article by Serra and colleagues on a new low-cost device for identification of parathyroid glands using autofluorescence [1]. Authors have attempted to develop a low-cost, easily replicable device, based on commercially available accessories. Such efforts in making a low-cost device are commendable as frugal innovations in healthcare are required to provide quality and safe surgery in resource-limited settings.
