Phytonanosynthesis of MgO Nanoparticles: Green Synthesis, Characterization and Antimicrobial Evaluation

 
 
 

Abstract


The aim of present study deals with phytonanosynthesis of MgO nanoparticles by using Citrus aurantium peel extract for promising agents as biomedical sector. The successful formation of MgO nanoparticles was confirmed by following characterizations, such as XRD, UV, FT-IR, FE-SEM with EDAX analysis. Using agar well method, the antimicrobial efficiencies were studied against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger. The optical absorption peak at 290\xa0nm was observed using UV–visible spectrum. The average particle size of the MgO nanoparticles was found to be 50–60\xa0nm that assumed from XRD and FE-SEM analysis. The possible chemical components of the synthesized MgO nanoparticles were also examined by FT-IR analysis. Evaluation of antimicrobial efficacies has exhibited excellent antimicrobial activities compared to commercial drugs. Based on our results concluded that, phytonanosynthesis of MgO nanoparticles has been synthesized in successfully manner and it can be safe, nontoxic, eco-friendly material. Therefore, the synthesized MgO nanoparticles proved excellent antimicrobial activities and it can be recommended for biomedical applications.
