Abstract

By employment of 1,4-di(1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzene (bib)) or (1,10-phenanthroline (phen) as the N-heterocyclic co-ligand, two coordination polymers of [Co(μ3-Hcpota)(phen)]n·nH2O (1) and [Co2(μ4-Hcpota)(μ3-Hcpota)(μ2-bib)2(H2O)]n (2) were produced by the solvothermal reactions between 2-(4-carboxyphenoxy)terephthalic acid (H3cpota) and Co(II) salts. In order to develop novel candidate drugs for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer, the anticancer activities of novel compounds were assessed and the relevant mechanism of action also was discussed. Firstly, the non-small cell lung cancer cells’ viability after treated via the compounds was detected utilizing the Cell Counting Kit-8. Moreover, the apoptosis in non-small cell lung cancer cells was determined with the Western blot by measuring the Caspase-3 and Bcl-2 expression.
