Fabrication of Metal Dielectric Nanocomposites by Ion Implantation and Characterization by Nonlinear Optics Techniques
Abstract
Abstract Some recent results on the synthesis of noble metal nanoparticles in different dielectrics by low-energy high-dose ion implantation and their optical properties are reviewed. One of the features of composites prepared by such ion implantation is the growth of metal particles with a wide size distribution in the thin depth from the irradiated substrate surface. Specific optical reflection of implanted materials, created at various temperatures, is considered. The fabricated structures show specific nonlinear optical properties in the case of picosecond laser pulses for near IR spectral area. The recommendations for fabrication of composites with implanted MNPs for optical components are discussed.
