High-Resolution Photoelectron Spectroscopy
Abstract
Abstract This article presents recent progresses in photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) of transient metal complexes and clusters at sub-meV energy resolution. Short-lived metal species are prepared through in situ laser-assisted synthesis and cooled by supersonic expansions. Three variants of high-resolution PES are described along with representative applications in coordination and organometallic chemistry. They are pulsed-filed-ionization zero electron kinetic energy (ZEKE), mass-analyzed threshold ionization (MATI), and low-energy photoelectron velocity-map imaging (PEVMI) spectroscopies.
