Construction of Strata Boundaries for Ranked Set Sampling
Abstract
Abstract In this chapter, we use LINGO/PYTHON to address the problem of constructing strata boundaries in stratified random sampling for Neyman allocation. The effect on strata boundaries from using ranked set sampling instead of simple random sampling is discussed under different distributions such as uniform, triangular, exponential, etc. The proposed new method of constructing strata boundaries is compared to the original method suggested by Dalenius (1950). We suggest for further study an idea to construct strata boundaries using ranked set sampling for randomized response technique, introduced by Bouza (2009).
