Realistic Models for Human Exposure to High Frequency (HF) Radiation

Abstract

Abstract Examples of realistic models of the human head, eye, brain, and the complete body exposed to high-frequency electromagnetic radiation are given. The first part reviews some integral methods for electromagnetics dosimetry; Surface Integral Equation (SIE) and efficient Method of Moments (MoM) scheme are applied to the brain exposure to HF radiation, tensor volume integral equation is applied to the whole body exposure to HF radiation, and finally, Stratton–Chu integral formulation coupled with vector Helmholtz equations is handled via hybrid boundary element method (BEM)/finite element method (FEM) scheme to analyze the eye exposure to plane wave radiation. The second part is related to the thermal dosimetry models based on the use of Pennes bioheat equation and the related numerical solution using the finite and boundary element methods.
