Statistical considerations of parasiticide screening tests and confirmation trials

Abstract

Abstract This chapter gives an overview of statistical design and analysis methods that may be applied to the screening tests and confirmatory trials such as those presented in this book. Particular attention is given to defining and understanding the fundamental elements of experimental design, such as the experimental unit, true replication versus pseudoreplication, and the importance of randomization, so that the statistical methods described can be appropriately applied and results be correctly interpreted. The topics covered span simple univariate summaries to statistical modeling techniques of varying degrees of complexity.
