PANI-based nanostructures
Abstract
Abstract Many advanced materials and systems are designed in nanoscale to act as efficiently as possible. An enormous amount of investigation has been done to exert control over the nanostructure of advanced materials and also to manipulate their specific structures. Nanostructures, because of the high surface area that can be imparted to the system, can boost the performance of materials. Emerging conductive polymers have revolutionized the polymer industry and indeed widened the polymer usage realm. Polyaniline (PANI), as a well-known conductive polymer, has been utilized in various applications such as electronics, anticorrosive coatings, and biomedical devices. Because of the adjustable properties of PANI, this material can be used in a wide range of applications; hence, its nanostructure can be optimized to achieve the highest possible level of performance. In this chapter, we illuminate PANI nanostructure formation and application to provide rational strategies for the selection of proper structures for specific applications.
