Sensitive and selective sensor for 3, 4-dihydroxyphenethylamine and uric acid at poly (Orange CD) modified carbon paste electrode
Abstract
Abstract In the present work, an efficient electrochemical sensor based on poly (Orange CD) fabricated carbon paste electrode (FCPE) was constructed which displayed effective electrochemical response toward 3, 4-dihydroxyphenethylamine (DHPA) and uric acid (UA). The various parameters like the effect of scan rate, pH & concentration of DHPA were studied. The scan rate effect was found to be an adsorption controlled electrode process. The pH study exposes the participation of an equal number of protons and electrons in the redox mechanism. The detection limits of 0.41 and of 0.63\xa0μM were achieved for DHPA & UA analysis. The sensor was stable, sensitive, selective, and reproducible. The practical application of poly (Orange CD) FCPE revealed satisfactory recovery.
