Development of a new eco-friendly composite material based on gypsum reinforced with a mixture of cork fibre and cardboard waste for building thermal insulation
Abstract
Abstract The aim of this work is to evaluate the thermal and hygrometric characteristics of an eco-friendly composite material made of a mixture of two natural fibres, cork and cardboard waste reinforcing gypsum matrix. For this purpose, mechanical tests, kinetics of moisture adsorption, thermal conductivity and sound propagation speed are carried out. Results show that the composite material formed by fibres is suitable for applications in several structures.
