Abstract

Abstract This study proposed a water-soil coupled SPH model based on the two-phase mixture theory, Drucker-Prager equation and quasi-compressible fluid dynamics, and conducted its parallel implementation with the OpenMP framework. After that, the proposed water-soil-coupled SPH model was validated by generating the geostatic stress of a soil slope. Then, the stability analysis of a soil slope was conducted with the strength reduction procedure, and simulated results yielded the safety factor, sliding area and groundwater effect. The proposed SPH model has been proved to be a useful and efficient tool for the stability analysis of soil slope.
