A WSi2-HfB2-SiC Coating for Ultralong-time Anti-oxidation at 1973 K

 
 
 
 
 

Abstract


Abstract In order to improve the oxidation resistance of C/C composites at 1973\u202fK, WSi2-HfB2-SiC coating was prepared on the surface of SiC coated C/C composites. Experiment results show that pre-oxidized WSi2-HfB2-SiC/SiC coating can protect C/C substrates for 110\u202fh in the air environment at 1973\u202fK. The oxidation products of the coating formed a multiphase glass layer on the surface of the sample, which greatly improved the oxidation resistance of the C/C sample at 1973\u202fK. In addition, the reasons of good oxidation resistance of the coating and its oxidation protection mechanism were also analyzed in this paper.
