Using Tag Team Simulation for Ethics Education in Undergraduate Nursing Students

Abstract

Abstract Tag team simulation (TTS) is an innovative and interactive approach designed to engage large groups of students in an unfolding and evolving scenario. To support second year undergraduate nursing students understanding of ethical dilemmas and decision-making the authors from a Canadian university implemented TTS in the classroom setting. During the class students were provided with a one-hour lecture immediately followed by TTS. This educational approach was implemented to allow for the immediate connection of theory to practice, offer timely feedback to students in their application of knowledge, and generate ongoing opportunities for reflection in the development of self-care strategies associated with moral distress.
