Advances in the mass transport for 2D nano-catalyst: Toward superior electrocatalytic water splitting
Abstract
Abstract In addition to seeking for high intrinsic activity, the mass transport also play an important role in two dimensional (2D) nano-catalysts for superior water electrolysis. In this perspective, we emphatically present the recent progresses in the strategies of enhanced mass transport for 2D nano-catalysts, which could be roughly classified into three categories: layer modification, space regulation between layers and using supporters. Their resultant extraordinary performance as the result of enhanced mass transport will arouse people to put more efforts into the design of mass-transport channels. Finally, in the consideration of mass transport, the future developments of 2D nano-catalysts are also briefly proposed. We hope our perspective will pave a way to the guidance of integral catalyst engineering with both the activity and mass transport.
