Study on the relationship between surface error and optical performance for polymer optical lenses

Abstract

Abstract Taking polymer aspheric optical lens array as the research object, the influence of surface error on optical performance has been analyzed. Zernike polynomial is used to build a bridge between surface error and optical performance, then a matrix conversion model between surface error and wavefront aberration has been established. The simulation of wavefront aberration has high accuracy, and the maximum deviation between simulation and test results is only 7 nm. When the form of surface error of polymer optical lens is rotationally symmetrical, the center of rotation is close to the geometric center, and the root mean square error is lower, the smaller the focal spot diameter, distortion rate and modulation transfer function are. It shows that the lens has higher focusing ability, imaging fidelity and imaging resolution.
