Near-infrared laser–assisted CuS@mSiO2@L-proline catalyzed asymmetric aldol reaction

Abstract

Abstract Mesoporous silica-coated copper sulfide nanosheet-loaded L-proline catalysts were prepared to catalyze the hydroxyl aldol condensation reaction using 808-nm laser assistance. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and a fully automatic elemental analyzer. CuS@mSiO2@L-proline was used to catalyze the hydroxyl aldol condensation reaction of p-nitrobenzaldehyde and acetone with 808-nm laser assistance in 96.1% yields and 90.6% enantiomeric excess (ee) values. Furthermore, the catalytic activity did not decrease significantly after seven use cycles. Easy to operate and recycle, the near-infrared laser-assisted catalysis greatly improved the reaction rate.
