Understanding the design of opportunities: Re-evaluating the agent-opportunity nexus through a design lens
Abstract
Abstract This paper reassesses the fundamental tenets of the opportunity construct from a design perspective. It acknowledges the incommensurability between the opportunity discovery and creation views, and uses a processual approach based on ontological pragmatism to conceptualize an opportunity. In essence, this paper outlines the associative nature of an opportunity and its implications to elucidate its ephemerality and its dependence on human agency for materialization.
