Abstract

Abstract A series of novel heterometallic complexes [Cu(en)2][Mn2(С2О4)3]·6H2O (1), [Cu(en)2][Mn2(С2О4)3] (2), [Cu(en)2][Mn2(C2O4)3(H2O)2] (3) and [Cu(en)2][Co2(C2O4)3]·3H2O (4) [en =\u202fethylenediamine] have been synthesized by one-pot “direct synthesis” technique. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, as well as single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. X-ray crystallographic study of the compounds has shown that 1–4 possess polymeric structure with different 2D and 3D topologies. The spinels have been obtained after low-thermal degradation of the complexes (below 320\u202f°C). The morphology and microstructure of the solid residues were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (SEM/EDX).
