Synthesis of polygonal chitosan microcapsules for the delivery of amygdalin loaded silver nanoparticles in breast cancer therapy
Abstract
Abstract In this study, amygdalin loaded silver nanoparticles encapsulated chitosan microcapsules were developed for the efficient delivery of amygdalin in breast cancer therapy. First, amygdalin loaded silver nanoparticles were developed by reduction method and then encapsulated into the folic acid functionalized chitosan microcapsules. The amygdalin loaded silver nanoparticles were characterized by high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. The chemical structure and morphology of the amygdalin loaded silver nanoparticles encapsulated chitosan microcapsule were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technique. Further, in-vitro drug release study and cell cytotoxicity studies indicate the potential of chitosan microcapsules loaded with amygdalin in breast cancer therapy.
