Surfactant-rutin-alcohol interactions: A multi-techniques analysis
Abstract
Abstract The paper presents the interactions between rutin and nonionic surfactant Triton X-114 in ethanol, which were investigated by means of the UV–Visible spectrometry, fluorescence spectroscopy, speed of the sound, surface tension and adsorptive stripping voltammetric measurements. An attempt was made to examine the effect of flavonoid and surfactant concentration on the interactions between each compound in alcohol – water solutions. The obtained results show that the interactions in the examined mixtures change with the increase of the surfactant concentration in the solution and the surfactant adsorption capacity onto the electrode surface decreases over time and after micellization.
