High energy positron source driven by laser pulses

 
 
 
 

Abstract


Abstract High energy positron source has many important applications in scientific research. Here we come up with a new internal positron injection scenario that is injecting radionuclides which can emit positrons in β + -decay into laser field. Compared with existing external positron injection scenario, our internal positron injection scenario has advantages in operating and cost. By simulation calculating, we demonstrate the positrons with low initial kinetic energy emitted by radionuclides can be accelerated to GeV by laser pulses.
