Bubble growth in a boiling water-cooled packed bed reactor

Abstract

Abstract The bubble growth in boiling water-cooled packed bed reactor were determined via experiments. Oxidized carbon steel balls were heated by electromagnetic induction method and packed in the glass tube with water as coolant. A high-speed camera was employed for the visualization study of bubble growth process. The effects of corner region, inlet temperature and mass flux on the bubble growth curve were analyzed, and bubble growth curve were proposed based on certain parameters. The results indicated that value predicted by bubble growth model is good agree with experimental data.
