A first radiometric chronology for the Khatt Shebib megalithic structure in Jordan using the luminescence dating of rock surfaces

Abstract This study presents the first instrumental radiometric date for one of the longest linear archaeological structures in southern Jordan ‘’Khatt Shebib’’. Quartz OSL profiles into the buried surfaces of two rocks from the structure near the modern village of Ayl enabled us to confirm that the surfaces had been exposed to light before burial, but to different degrees at various locations on the same rock.
